***Always refer to your designated technical support staff before implementing changes to your system configuration.***

Configuring Internet Explorer 7, 8

  1. If you are using the internal Internet Explorer Pop-up Blocker, make sure this site is not blocked. From the menu list, choose:

    Tools -> Pop-Up Blocker -> Pup-Up Blocker Settings

    This will open a new pane. In the field marked "Address of Website to allow", type *.uit.yorku.ca and select the 'Add' button. It will now appear in the list of Allowed Sites on the same pane. (Note: this will allow pop-ups from any York site).

  2. You will need to add this site to your list of 'trusted sites'. Fom the menu list, choose:

    Tools -> Internet Options

    This will open a new pane. On that pane, select the 'Security' tab. Within the tab, you will now see a 'trusted sites' icon in the form of a green check mark. When you select that green check mark, you will now see a button marked 'Sites'. Select the 'Sites' button. Similar to the pop-up blocker settings, in the field marked 'Add this website to the zone', type *.uit.yorku.ca and select the 'Add' button. It will now appear in the list of Allowed Sites on the same pane. Make sure the 'Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone' is unchecked. Press Ok. (Note: this will add all York sites to your trusted sites list).

  3. You will need to adjust the Security Level for the Trusted Sites zone to 'Medium-Low'. From the menu list, choose:

    Tools -> Internet Options

    This will open a new pane. On that pane select the 'Security' tab. Within the tab, you will now see a 'trusted sites' icon in the form of a green check mark. A scroller will now appear on the lower half of the pane. Adjust the scroller so that 'Medium-Low' appears as the security level. Press Ok. If a scroll bar does not appear and there appears a 'Custom' description, first select 'Default Level', and the scroller will appear.

Configuring Firefox 3

  1. If you are using the internal Pop-up Blocker, make sure https://ereports.its.yorku.ca/ is not blocked. In Mozilla Firefox 2.x, from the menu list, choose:
